ICF New Jersey Coach Connect - August 2026
Letter from the President

Back to Business: A Fall Programming Preview
Hi there ICF New Jersey,
I hope you are having a chance to recharge this summer. As we head into the fall, we look forward to welcoming you back for a season of learning, engagement, connection, and fun.
I invite you to explore our Future-Ready Your Coaching Practice Series and the Events Calendar filled with opportunities to build relationships and support your growth at every stage of your coaching, business, and credentialing journey.
Don’t miss our 8th Annual Dinner “Coachesgiving” on November 12, where we come together to appreciate and celebrate the spirit of our coaching community. Reserve your seat today.
As we get back to business, I also encourage you to consider volunteering. Volunteering is one of the best opportunities to build relationships, share your talents, and make a difference. Thanks to our current volunteers whose time, talent, and heart continue to strengthen our chapter and create opportunities for others. If you have been wondering about getting involved, this is an exciting season. You can lead a project, join a committee, host a Coffee with Coaches, or lend your talents with one of our chapter initiatives. You will often hear us say, “Get in where you can fit in.” Explore how you can get involved at your pace.
If you are looking to learn, reconnect, or give forward, there is a place for you in ICF New Jersey.
I look forward to seeing you this fall.

Credentialing Corner

Upcoming Changes to the ICF PCC/MCC Credentialing Exam
ICF Global has announced an update to the PCC/MCC Credentialing Exam that will take effect November 10, 2026.
What's Changing
- The updated exam will include:
- 44 situational judgment questions (coaching scenarios)
- 36 knowledge-based multiple-choice questions
- Candidates will have 150 minutes to complete the exam, with one optional 10-minute break.
- The exam has been updated to reflect the latest ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics.
- The overall difficulty level and expected pass rate will remain comparable to the current exam.
What Isn't Changing
The exam will continue to assess the same four competency domains:
- Foundation
- Co-Creating the Relationship
- Communicating Effectively
- Cultivating Learning and Growth
During the transition period, eligible candidates may choose either exam. ICF will provide candidates with information on how to request the new exam if they prefer to wait.
ICF will also release additional preparation resources, including a free tutorial on the new exam format, before the November launch. As always, the best preparation is a solid understanding of the ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics, along with practice applying them in coaching conversations.

DEIB/IDEAS Matter
Summer Is in Full Swing
My wish for us all is to treasure this space and slow down time. Make this time and space meaningful so it can hold us in the months ahead.
For the DEIB/IDEAS Advisory Council this time is a six-month inflection point to reflect on where we are headed.
We are focused on three initiatives where we welcome your engagement.
These words describe her to both the ICF New Jersey Charter Chapter and the Dress for Success Northern New Jersey Community. These two organizations share two things in common: first, a commitment to supporting the growth and development of our communities and second, honoring Coach Willa Edgerton-Chisler's legacy.
On September 24, we are presenting two of the alumni from Coach Willa's Dress for Success Northern New Jersey Empowerment Program with a $500 certificate. These two women are chosen as representatives of Coach Willa's belief in empowering women in their careers. Both women are role models in the community and are committed to giving back in ways that honor Willa’s legacy.

The gala event will be held on September 24 and you are invited to attend. We will be showing our new ICF New Jersey video to the public for the first time. More information to follow.
A big shout out to Melinda Neiman who is heading up the team with Dorisse Shakir-Ullah, Kelli Kombat, Debbie Godfrey and Mindy Gewirtz.
2. Our second goal is to follow-up the anti-Jewish Bias workshop with a discussion panel in November. More details to follow in September.
3. Our third initiative is in the research stage so more on that in September as well.
In the meantime, think about where your passion is for DEIB/IDEAS and join us on our journey. Get in where you can fit in, as Kelli reminds us. You can have an impact, meet great people and have fun.

The Power of Us!
Guess what happens when coaches put down the packed agenda and simply make space to connect?
At our Summer Vibes for Coaches: The Power of Us luncheon, we slowed down, shared, laughed, listened, & recharged our batteries.
One message came through loud and clear: We need more of this!
Read about what happened when we created space for community, connection, and the Power of Us.
