The Power of Us: Our Stories

Meet Lisa Le Vere

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am dedicated to human-centered coaching and helping people live their fullest lives while tapping into their fullest potential. I’ve had the blessing of working with people across the globe and the one constant I’ve discovered is that no matter the language, location, or diversity of our characteristics, our needs as humans are fundamentally the same. I hold certifications in Transformational and Life Coaching, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B), and Change Management.

Was there a moment, experience, or person that influenced your decision to become a coach?

It’s funny, when I think back over the arc of my career and the types of roles that I have had across industries (e.g. Fortune 100, NGO, non-profit, etc.), I’ve always been focused on helping people become the fullest version of themselves. I’ve always been coaching in some way or another and helping people and organizations level up to their personal best. On the DEI&B side, I’ve had the pleasure of providing inclusive leadership coaching and supporting people from the C-suite to the individual contributor level with developing skills to work across cultures and leverage spectrums of diversity to enhance teams and innovation.

What matters most to you about the people you serve or the work you do?

The thing that matters most to me is helping people gain the clarity they need and providing a safe space for them to do their work, which is becoming the fullest version of themselves. So many times, we as humans are shrinking ourselves to become a version that is more palatable for others. As a coach, I’ve seen this show up in the form of negative self-talk and other limiting beliefs.

I work with clients to help them recognize and overcome any limiting beliefs they may have by unpacking the what, who, why and once the patterns are recognized, supporting clients to replace these things with new vocabulary and mindsets. All too often, negative self-talk is someone else’s voice rather than the clients. It just happens to be on repeat, and they haven’t stopped to reflect on where it’s coming from.

What’s one lesson, quote, or coaching philosophy that continues to guide you?

A favorite quote of mine is by Feminist Quaker, Ursula Franklin, “Silence is a space for something to happen.” One of my greatest pleasures as a coach is that we get to hold space for our clients in a world that is sometimes so cacophonous.

What’s one opportunity, connection, or experience you’re hoping for through the ICF New Jersey community?

I am really enjoying connecting with so many bright minds in our NJ community. It’s truly been wonderful to meet so many devoted coaches who are working to expand their knowledge to help their clients. I am always looking for new opportunities to share, cross-connect, and leverage diverse perspectives whether it’s via a webinar, podcast, panel, or coffee chat.

What does being a part of ICF New Jersey mean to you?

As a born and bred Jersey girl, being a part of ICF New Jersey has made me feel more expansive in terms of my reach both personally and professionally in a state that I love.

What’s a recent win, milestone, or collaboration you’d like us to celebrate with you?

I recently joined the ICF NJ Professional Education / Development Committee which has been a wonderful way to connect with other coaches who are dedicated to providing quality programming to build coach capabilities and expand their businesses in an ICF compliant manner to better their clients.

What is a hobby or interest you care about that’s not related to coaching?

I am a registered yoga instructor, consummate gardener, and avid walker. I enjoy taking time to slow down, connect with nature, and check in with myself.
