Co-Vice President, Professional Education and Development

Five (5) Resource Development CCEs are awarded for Board service.

Position Summary
The responsibilities of the Co-Vice President of Professional Education and Development are:
  • Working together, responsible for the overall design, execution, and evaluation of programs offered to members and non-members through ICF New Jersey Charter Chapter, including but not limited to: educational, professional development, skill building, networking, business development, etc.
  • Working collaboratively with Chapter members and leaders to plan formal events as well as informal gatherings such as Book Clubs and Community Groups.
    • Create and deliver the member-driven program plan for each year/calendar:
      • Design a calendar of events, webinars, and gatherings to add value to the member experience
      • Create and work within approved budgets
      • Track meeting results, participation rates, and financial details
    • Identify speakers and presenters to realize the aims of the member-driven program plan
      • Champion opportunities for ICF New Jersey Charter Chapter members to showcase their coaching programs and expertise
      • Establish and manage a Request for Proposal or speaker evaluation process
      • Vet speakers and presenters for goodness of fit with program objectives
      • Liaise with speakers and presenters to ensure their success
  • Coordinating and organizing Chapter programs
    • Balance in-person activities with remote learning and other gathering opportunities to optimally engage members in creative ways and to ensure the success of member-driven programs
      • Oversee the logistics for in-person meetings
        • Specifics include: venue selection, contracts, food & beverages, audiovisual requirements, payments, etc.
        • Manage registration processes, as needed
      • Oversee the logistics for virtual meetings, including but not limited to:
        • Specifics include: Zoom scheduling and facilitation, coordinating with the webinar presenter, reviewing the recording for post-event use
      • Community Groups
        • Work with Community Groups to host events, as appropriate.
        • Recruit engaged and active members of ICF New Jersey Charter Chapter to lead Community Groups to ensure an on-going pipeline of future Chapter leaders
        • Support local Community Group leaders to serve the needs of coaches who attend in-person or virtual meetings, helping to create interest in ICF New Jersey membership for those unaffiliated
        • Identify special interests or niches that members would gravitate to for gatherings
        • Provide Community Group Leaders with members who are potential attendees based on geography or focus area
        • Create a forum for the Community Group Leaders to share best practices and resources
        • Tap into participating coaches to present topics within their Community Group
        • Offer RD CCEs for those who attend the monthly meeting
    • Craft surveys to provide feedback for continuous improvement in programming
  • Spearhead the Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units process
    • Apply for CCEs for qualified programs
    • Maintain a list of attendance for CCE units
    • Ensure that CCEs are distributed to qualified attendees
  • Communication
    • Coordinate with Chapter VA to update the website with program information, including Community Group schedules, for the various website pages
    • Coordinate with the Vice President, Marketing and Communications regarding advertising upcoming programs and events
    • Provide content on all programs for the Chapter newsletter and other channels
  • Participate in the ICF Global Northeast Regional forum as a means of sharing programs and collaborating with other Chapters
  • Maintain the Chapter Program procedural documentation
  • Cultivate IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Solidarity) for the Board and the Chapter

Estimated Time Requirements:
  • Preparation and participation in monthly Board meetings (2 hours/month)
  • Planning and preparation for in-person events (3-6 hours per event)
  • Planning and preparation for webinars (2-3 hours per event)
  • Attendance at member programs (Educational programs, Professional Development events, Community Groups, and Chapter meetings) 
  • Cultivating and sharing Community Group best practices
  • Recruiting and overseeing the Program planning committee – weekly meetings for team (4 hours/month)

Estimated Time: 15-20 hours per month per Co-Vice President

Experience/Qualifications (required and preferred):
  • Member in good standing of the Chapter
  • Nominated to the Board of Directors by the Nominating and Elections Committee
  • Voted into office by a vote of members of the Chapter
  • Confirmed in the role by the Board of Directors
  • This role serves as a potential pathway to Presidential leadership within the Board
