    Virtual Event

Join ICF-NJ’s coaching community for an evening of discussion, connection and learning.

In 2020 we want to create more of an opportunity for you to get to know your coaching colleagues. So, during our webinars, we will be using our virtual Zoom platform to split the larger group into smaller discussion groups with 2–4 people at different points during our webinar sessions. This will be a great way to meet fellow coaches and exchange ideas from the comfort of your home office.

The topic for our January 13th webinar is:
“Discover the ICF Updated Core Competency Model”

The updated ICF Core Competency Model is out! What does it mean? What changes? What remains the same? What is the impact on my certification?

Join us online on Monday, January 13, 2020, at 7 pm for a presentation on the updated model and a group discussion lead by our own Elias Scultori, PCC.

    The presentation will include:

    • A comparison between the present and updated models,
    • An overview of the updating process,
    • An overview of the new model and next steps

Below is an explanation from ICF Global about the process for reviewing & updating the Core Competency Model.

When we first created the Core Competencies and developed the ICF Code of Ethics, we set the standard in the coaching field. The ICF Core Competencies were first identified and articulated by eight pioneers in our profession, all of whom were committed to creating greater understanding about the knowledge and skills needed for effective coaching. The groundbreaking ICF Core Competency model that emerged has provided a strong foundation for our accreditation and credentialing processes ever since.

Over the past 24 months, we’ve been engaged in rigorous job analysis research. From start to finish, more than 1,300 coaches—both ICF Members and non-members—from around the globe have participated in this process.

While the empirical data we collected through the job analysis process validated that much of the original ICF Core Competency model remains relevant and reflected in current coaching practice, this new competency model offers a simpler, more streamlined structure and integrates consistent, clear language. The updated ICF Core Competency model reflects the collective insights and wisdom shared with us through this comprehensive research initiative.

ICF-NJ invites you to learn about these changes on Monday, January 13th. We hope to see you then.
